This year was the first year that Jason has been able to take Carter to the ward Father's and Son's Outing with our church. He's usually on call for work, so I'm so glad that it finally worked out for him and Carter to go. This year they went to Pinal City just outside of Superior. They camped next to the Queen Creek. I guess that's how our town got its name?? Who knew?
I remember growing up and my dad packing up to take my brothers. He spent a lot more time packing than Jason did. Jason just threw a few drinks and snacks in an ice chest and grabbed an airbed and blankets and off they went. He decided that they would just sleep in the back of the Tahoe instead of setting up a tent for just one night. He said the sleeping situation wasn't the best, but the clean up afterwards was worth it.
Here are a few pictures that they took.
Jason said they didn't do much... They just went on an early morning hike and then ate breakfast and packed it up. Sounds fun. Hu?
Well Carter thought it was. He came home saying how much fun he had with Dingo. Apparently someone took their dog there, and Carter was able to walk it on their hike. This was all he talked about when they got home...
I know this campout will be something that Carter looks forward to in the future. And just being able to spend the one on one time with his dad I'm sure is priceless.
