Two Teeth in One Week

Mila got her second tooth yesterday. That makes two teeth in one week. So far she is keeping pace with Carter. He got his first two teeth at four months old, and he didn't quit teething until all of his infant teeth were in. Hopefully Mila will get a break now.

(It was hard to get a decent picture of her that actually showed her teeth, so that's why these pictures aren't very cute.)

Hard at Work

Yesterday Jason was replacing some broken tiles in our Dining Room and Carter was more than willing to help. Of course he had to get his work clothes on first. He said, "With these clothes on I can fix anything you need me to." He helped by breaking another tile. So instead of replacing two tiles, Jason had to replace three. Oh well...He was "helping".




I don't know what the purpose of the vinyl gloves were other than he couldn't find any "work" gloves.

This kid loves to work. He is always following me around asking if there is anything he could help me do. I've discovered there are some things he can do pretty well. He likes to vacuum and is always willing to unload the dishwasher. I think as long as it doesn't involve cleaning the toy room he would love to do it.

He loves to go over to grandma's new house to work too. He is right in the middle of whatever project is going on, sometimes just watching and taking it all in, other times actually being helpful. Last night he helped us shovel rock and he loved every second of it.

If he turns out anything like his father "Mr. Fixanything" I guess it will be worth him being in the way sometimes.

Crabby Baby

So this explains why I've had such a crabby baby this week...Her first tooth popped through last night. I didn't even know she was teething. Both Carter and Leah would get a fever when they were teething, but Mila never did. Now I just want my happy baby back!!

Pajama Day

Leah declared today as Pajama Day. (Doesn't she just look homeless?) She has this day about once a week and you can not do anything to change her mind and take a bath....



Here's Mila doing her tricks on the floor. Whenever you lay her down now she instantly rolls over. She can now get her arm out from under her with no problem and she's even learning how to roll back to her back.

In this picture she looks really happy, but don't let her fool you. Today was one of her bad days. (Or should I say mine?) She had to be held and talked to or she was crying.

Leah just being Leah

Carter got his school pictures back the other day, so I wanted to take some pictures of Leah so I can update my picture frames on the wall. These are some of the pictures that she gave me to work with. After a while of trying to get just one good one, I finally just said ok then give me your best silly face.

Family Update

Leah and Carter... Our ward had a fun potluck dinner, water slide, and outdoor movie that the kids really enjoyed.

Mila is starting to hold things and bring them up to her mouth. Tonight when I was changing her into her jammies she would not let go of this ring.

This week we tried to give her rice cereal and she didn't like it at all. I guess we'll try again another day.

I just need to vent...

If you know me very well you know that I use one of these to feed my baby. I have had to pump with each of my kids because they would not latch on in the beginning and I couldn't handle the stress and frustration that came along with it. With Carter I pumped for nine months and with Leah I only lasted six. Now with Mila it's been four and a half and it's starting to wear on me. I don't know if it's having the demands of two older kids or what; but I am hating every second of it. Wherever I go, my pump goes... I feel bad for Mila too. When I'm not ahead of her schedule, she screams the whole time I'm pumping and it just breaks my heart. Jason has been the best support for me...he'll feed Mila once I'm done so I can get other things done. I think in that aspect it has really given Mila a strong bond to Jason. He keeps encouraging me (maybe cause he knows how much money it's saving us) and I know it's the best source of nutrition for my baby, but it's getting VERY old!!

Mila's New Trick

Mila rolled over a few times about four weeks ago. Now she really has the hang of it. She won't stay on her back anymore, and she gets frustrated when she can't get her arm out from under her belly. Sometimes she gets it, other times she doesn't. She is growing up so fast.

Carter is lovin' kindergarten

This week they were learning the letter H and the color orange. His teacher sent home a paper plate for them to decorate and wear for Happy Hat Day. Jason's first thought was...A plate of Nachos. So that's what they did. What do you think??
It was so funny when I picked him up from school and all of the kids had on their Happy Hats. I wish I would've had my camera....they were pretty creative.

Carter has also been working really hard this week on learning to tie his shoes. Well, after a lot of tears and frustration he's finally got it down. The only pair of tie shoes that he has are his Heelys, and once he figured out how to tie them he decided he needed to learn how to use them. That was quite the adventure... Jason spent about half an hour working with him, but he has pretty much no coordination, and fell every time he tried. The last fall of the night was pretty bad and Leah comes running in yelling, "Mom call the ambulance, Carter broke his arm and his leg.", so I go running out there and he was fine, but done for the night. I guess it wasn't that bad though, cause the next night he asked Jason to help him practice some more.

Mila's bling

Jason told me that I couldn't get Mila's ears peirced until she was four months old, well yesterday Mila was exactly four months old. We were out shopping with my mom and Stacey and I mentioned that I wanted to go get Mila's ears done, so Stacey said she would go with me. We went to Claire's at the San Tan Village Mall and Jason and the kids stayed out in the food court while Stacey and I went in. A few tears and short screams later, we were done. Mila did really well. I think she cried more from being held down than getting her ears peirced. Doesn't she look cute?

Labor Day Weekend in Safford

We went to Jason's parents house for Labor Day weekend and these are just some random pictures we took:
Jason's cousins' kids had like 17 turtles in their yard and they were showing our kids the baby ones. Leah was terrified of the big ones cause some of them can walk really fast and she thought they were going to get her. I thought it was kinda funny...

Carter talked his cousin Aaron into helping him make a ladder out of this game so he could pretend he was a fireman.

We didn't see much of Carter the whole weekend because he always wanted to be at Jason's sister's house, but when he was at Grandma's house these kept him busy for a long time.

It's always nice to go to Safford and visit Jason's family. They always take such good care of us and our kids. We both got to sleep in and take somewhat of a break from our kids while they played with their cousins. His parents and his sister spent the whole day on Sunday in the kitchen making some yummy Mexican food for us. (I can't wait until I'm done nursing just for that...) Thanks again for such a wonderful weekend and the much needed break.

Tonight I sent Leah upstairs to get ready for bed and a little while later this is how she came down:

Happy Labor Day!

A friend had this on her blog, and I thought it was cute....so I'll play too:

Carter: Induced, 26 hours
Leah: None (Light contractions for maybe an hour)
Mila: None whatsoever!!

Where did you deliver?

How did you know you were in labor?
Carter: I was at my Doctors Appointment and they sent me to the hospital because I had really high blood pressure and my reflexes were off, so they wanted me to go get checked. They found out that my fluid levels were low so they ended up inducing me.

Leah: I woke up at about midnight with contractions and we went to the hospital to get checked and the doctor happened to be there doing another C-section, so he said to stay there and he would do mine next.

Mila: No labor, I had high blood pressure with her as well, so they did an amniocentesis test to make sure her lungs were developed and they were, so the next day I had a scheduled c-section.

Drugs?
Oh Yea!!

Carter: I tried to go as long as I could without drugs, but after about 4 hours I asked for my epidural. I got the shakes really bad and my legs kept feeling like they were falling off the bed. Horrible!!

Leah: Whatever they gave me it was good!

Mila: They did a spinal block, but missed where it needed to go in, so they had to pull it out and do it again. I still get a shooting pain in my back every once in a while.
