Happy Anniversary

Today is our 8th Anniversary. Wow! It seems longer than that. I do mean that in a good way... Jason and I dated for six years before we got married, maybe that's why. He was only a Sophomore and I was a Senior when we started dating, so I feel like we pretty much "grew up" together. I had to do a lot of coaxing to get him to even think about marriage, and when he finally popped the question I was really surprised. Our marriage has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Jason is such an easy going person and is easy to love. (I on the other hand, know that I am not, and I'm so thankful that he puts up with me.) Our family has always come first to him and he'll do anything for us. Even after a long day at work he'll come home and make dinner, do laundry, yard work, help with homework....whatever needs to be done, he'll do it. Jason truly loves our kids and is an amazing father to each of them. He is such a wonderful husband and friend, and makes me feel so loved everyday.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JASON!! I love you babe!

(Jason always says he'll never forget how long we've been married because we were married in 2000, so it's easy for him to figure out how many years. We'll see if he actually remembers that it's today though....He probably will, because his parents sent us a card. THANK YOU, David & Terry!!)

The Tooth Fairy cometh...

What can you get for 5 dollars? Well, if you shop at Carters favorite store you can buy five flimsy toys.

The Tooth Fairy left Carter 5 bucks for one tooth. Can you guess what his first words were? That's right...Can we go to the dollar store? He keeps that place in business.

How to pull a toof

Carter has had a loose tooth for a couple of days now. It's just been dangling there and sometimes even turned sideways, but he would not let us pull it out. When he came home from school yesterday he said that he couldn't even eat his lunch because of it. Finally tonight he said, OK you can pull out my tooth now. So Jason gets this great idea of tying his tooth with dental floss and then tying it to his remote control 4 wheeler. They even put in fresh batteries, so it would be strong enough to yank it out.

Carter talks really quite in the video, but this is what he says:

Hi, I'm Carter, this is how you pull out a tooth...

Tear'n Down the Walls

This is what happens when you leave kids at home alone. They'll go crazy without any supervision.

Actually this is a wall in grandma's new house that is going to be removed. Carter and Cody had a blast knocking holes in the drywall and ripping down chunks. Clayton and Jason helped a little too.

Making good progress

Leah didn't like the noise

But Mila didn't seem to mind

Husband Tag

My friend posted this on her blog, and since I love my husband so much I thought I would do it.

1. What is his name? Jason David Nelson

2. Who eats more? Him, most of the time.

3. Who said "I love you" first? I don't really remember that far back, but I'm sure it was him.

4. Who is taller? He is, but not by much.

5. Who is smarter? Definitely him!! He knows a lot about EVERYTHING!

6. Who is more sensitive? Probably me. He doesn't let things get to him.

7. Who does the laundry? I always wash it, but if I don't get a chance to fold it during the day he'll do it before we go to bed.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does, I've tried switching with him a few times and he won't...

9. Who pays the bills? I do! Sometimes I wonder if he would know how to write out a check if he had to. He never spends money unless I'm with him either.

10. Who cooks more? Definitely him. I'm getting better though.

11. What meals do you cook together? We try to cook most meals together unless one of us is taking care of the baby.

12. Who is more stubborn? Me!!!!!!

13. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Jason... I'm very stubborn.

14. Who has more siblings? I do. There are 5 kids in my family and 2 in his.

15. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Definitely me!

16. What do you like to do together? I like to do anything we can do together.

17. Who eats more sweets? It used to be him, but I'm right up there. If we don't have anything sweet in the house, he's happy with a bowl of cereal.

18. What is his guilty pleasure? Dr. Pepper. I can buy a 12 pack and he has it gone in 2 days!!

19. How did you meet? We both had a mutual friend and he introduced us.

20. Who asked who out first? I asked him first. I'm 2 years older than Jason, and at the time, he only had his learners permit, so he couldn't pick me up to go on a date.

21. Who kissed who first? He kissed me first.

22. Who proposed? He did... we dated for 6 years before we got married, and I still had to coax him into it. Jason just wanted to get married once, so I guess he had to be sure I was to "one"...

23. His best features? His build. He has the biggest shoulders which works well for the best hugs!!

24. What is his greatest quality? He's always happy and nothing ever bothers him. (He's always telling me "Just let it go") He is the best husband and father. His family ALWAYS comes first.

25. Tag: anyone who loves their hubby too

Super Silly Sock Day

This week Carter's class was studying the letter "S" so on Friday they had Super Silly Sock Day. Here's some pictures of his silly socks. I bought the ugliest orange socks Wal-mart had and then glued colored eye balls all over them. He thought they were the coolest.

Umbrella....Check

Today Leah & I went to Wal-mart to find some silly socks for tomorrow's silly sock day at school, and Leah found this Sponge Bob umbrella. I couldn't resist the sweet little doughnut covered face that says "I need this for the rain, mom." Since we get soooo much rain here, I let her have it.

When we got to the check out lane she put it up on the counter and tells the cashier... "Umbrella...check.....Silly Socks....check..." She cracks me up.

What's Carter going to say when he gets home from school??

Wow how time flies...
Mila is now 3 months old!! In some ways it seems like she has been a part of our family for alot longer than 3 months and in other ways it seems like she was just born. I have enjoyed everyday thus far with her. She has such a sweet spirit and brings a smile to my face everyday.

She laughs and giggles when you talk to her, but she also has a good set of lungs and turns bright red when she cries.

Carter and Leah are enjoying her too. (Sometimes a little too much!)
