Grandma Welker

I guess it has been a while since I've blogged...  I found my camera in my car and when I uploaded the pictures to my computer I forgot that I had not posted about my Grandma Welker...  I wanted to do a completely separate post about her, because she meant so much to me.

She passed away on September 23rd.  Her funeral services were held in Pima, so we were all able to take a couple of days off and travel there to remember her and her wonderful life.  I can only imagine what the reunion must have been like for her and my dad.  She was pretty sick with dementia when my dad passed away, so I don't think she ever understood that he was no longer with us.  She would always ask where he was and when someone would tell her that he passed away it was like she was hearing it for the first time.  It's just such a blessing to know that she is no longer in pain.  Each time we went to visit her at the care center she was at, it was so heart breaking.  She was in so much pain and was so thin.  I know that she is in a much better place, but will be greatly missed.

I can just imagine the reunion that Grandma had with your dad as well! I miss her but I am so GLAD that she is not suffering anymore!!! Yes it was very hard to tell her so many times that your dad had passed away. she'd just cry and cry.... and it was hard not to when you tell her too.
