Papa Welker...We miss you!!

This week has really been a rough week for me...Today marks two years since my dad passed away and no matter how much time seems to go by it seems like the feeling of missing him still doesn't get any easier. There is not a day that goes bye that I don't think of him at least once every hour. He was the best dad that anyone could ever ask for. He loved and adored each of his grand kids and I just wish that they could have been able to know him a little longer...

My dad was only 53 when he passed away.
We found out that he had kidney cancer in October 2006 and he died February 8th, 2007.

This poem says it all...

God's Garden
God looked around his garden,
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you were suffering.
He knew that you would never
get well on this earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered, "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

I so look forward to being reunited with him again!

You said it perfectly. I too think of him all day every day, life just isn't the same. I love that poem. Today sucks.

Today ia a hard day. I too wish the grandkids could have got to know him a little better. He was the best grandpa! We will see him again someday, I know it!
